Meredith Needles
Can you talk a little bit about yourself and your background?
My name is Meredith Needles and my home country is Canada. My educational background is an Undergraduate Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages (Spanish, Italian and French) with a Post-Graduate in Teaching English Procedures. I have spent all my occupational career, up to this point, in education. I began as a teacher in various cities throughout Europe and I currently work in online education. I have been a developer, a content writer and recruiter for online high school, BA and Masters programs. I have recently been promoted to a leadership role, in which I believe this Masters will allow me to become more knowledgeable and successful.
What prompted you to pursue an online programme with Aston University? Specifically, why was online appealing to you?
When decided where I wanted to pursue an online programme, there were many attractions to Aston University. I knew I wanted to diversify my education background to an international institution and this institution needed to be highly-accredited, reputable and cost-effective costs. As Aston met all of these requirements, I could not be happier with my decision. Aston is a triple-accredited business school, costs significantly less than Canadian masters degrees and has the global reach to network, internationally.
What has the experience been like? Was it what you thought it would be like and has it met your expectations?
Currently, I am enrolled in my fourth module. Up to this point, I have had nothing but positive experiences. Within the modules, there are many different types of resources to meet your learning style. In addition, there are many opportunities to collaborate with classmates who are positioned globally, allowing for a diverse approach to different opinions and experience. The professors and module leaders are consistently motivating and resourceful, allowing all types of student to feel confident in the work they are doing, while still improving themselves.
If you were giving someone who was considering an online course advice, what would it be?
You can do this! Though deciding to further your education is a large commitment, it will always be worth it. Time flies and why not spend this time bettering yourself?
Would you recommend the Aston programme and if so what aspects of the course do you find appealing?
Yes – I would recommend the Aston programme. The flexibility, support and diverse resources are what I find most appealing.
